freesat is delivered by satellite so you will
require a working Satellite dish connected to your
freesat product or Sky / Free to Air box..

freesat is delivered by satellite so you will

freesat product. You cannot use an aerial with
freesat products
Can I use my
current Freeview box?
No, Freeview products are Digital
Terrestrial products that work off a standard
aerial. Freesat products are Digital Satellite
products and a require a satellite dish.
Can I get Sky channels?
No, the freesat products are designed for
FREE channels from freesat; it is not possible to
receive/upgrade to Sky Pay TV channels but you can
if you have a Sky box installed, this can be done at
any time with a monthly contract
card, via our UK associates.
What way do
I point my dish?
Please contact us for assistance if you
wish to DIY or we can undertake
a full installation in any region of France.
How do I get
my regional BBC and ITV channels to be detected?
In the UK you need to enter your postcode
and the correct regional channels this is not
possible with Freesat in France but all Sky boxes
carry the regional channels for Free.
What
connections does it have?
Please see the REAR view of the product for
details of the connections and information, or we
will do all the required set for you & cover any
guarantee.
What is the
USB port for?
The USB connection is used for Software
updates in the factory or Service Centre; customers
will receive all new software updates will be
broadcast OTA (Over the Air) automatically
What is the
Ethernet Port for?
The Ethernet port is not yet active; as
Freesat release new services in the future the
software on the Freesat products will be updated to
utilise the Ethernet port.
Can I move
the box to a different location?
Yes, if you move to a different location
then you will still require a satellite dish to
receive the channels.
Can I use my
current satellite dish?
Yes, if you have a working satellite dish
that you current use for UK satellite broadcasts
(e.g. Sky) then you can replace your existing
equipment, however the Freesat box gives you
no more channels than are
available free on any Sky box & most Free to Air
boxes.
In short
Freesat is just a copy of what is already available
to help the changeover to Digital in the UK, the
service is already available
in France (and has been for many years) with a Sky
or Free to Air
installation..
